The compressor is powered by a serpentine belt, which provides the energy needed to compress freon refrigerant to cool the car's cabin. Before switching my major to Information Technology, I enrolled in the GM Automotive Service Educational Program at Delta College in Saginaw, originally intending to become a GM-certified mechanic.
